Amazing DIY Body Cream

Have you ever thought that making your own body cream in the comfort of your home can be super easy and fun? Neither did I until a couple of weeks ago.

I recently started making my own cosmetics mostly because good and natural cosmetics are

usually pretty expensive and you never know if they will actually work for you. Along the way, I also found that personalizing and trying out different types of creams and oils that work for my skin specifically can be a really fun and interesting process.

I first made this body cream a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say that I am in love with it. That is why I thought of sharing with you this super easy and fun recipe.

The fun part is that you can make your own mix by adding any essential oils your skin type needs. I used lavender, chamomile, and sandalwood for their benefits on dry skin and calming scents as I needed a soothing fragrance to add to my evening routine.

As inspiration for different skin types, you could use some of the following E.O. (I would recommend to use one E.O or make a mix of 2-3 E.O.):

  • Oily skin - tea tree, rosemary, geranium, lavender.

  • Mixed skin - cedarwood, lavender, ylang-ylang, bergamot, sandalwood.

  • Sensitive skin - lavender, sandalwood, frankincense.

  • Dry skin - lavender, frankincense, sandalwood, chamomile, myrrh, geranium.

  • Acne-prone skin - tea tree, peppermint, rosemary, frankincense, lemon.

As carrier oils, I used sweet almond which is really good for any type of skin. Other options would be:

  • Argan oil - usually used for anti-aging products.

  • Coconut oil - contains skin-nourishing fats and usually used for mixed and oily skin.

  • Olive oil - high in oleic acid, making it perfect for dry skin.

  • Jojoba oil - healing and moisturizing for all skin types.

Vitamin E oil acts as a moisturizer, restoring the lost moisture. It is also a good preservative so if added into your cosmetics, it can prolong the shelf life.

Now that you know the basics and maybe already have a recipe in mind, let's start making your first DIY Body Cream.
